Powerflush Your Heating System
A Power Flush works by connecting a powerful cleaning unit and magnet filter to your central heating system in such a way that water flows from the radiators to the magnet filter to collect iron oxide sludge.

Over time, sludge and dirt can build up in your central heating system reducing circulating efficiency and causing a degradation in performance. Cold spots on your radiator could be an indication that your central heating system needs a clean. We offer specialist Power Flush services and can help to restore the efficiency of your central heating system.

A phosphoric acid based rust removal chemical is added to the system and the boiler is switched on. Radiator surface temperatures are then measured using infrared thermometers to detect cold/ rust spots.

By concentrating flow through individual radiators and vibrating the radiators with a special device, rust particles are dislodged and pass through the pipework to the magnet filter where they are trapped and prevented from re-entering the heating system.

Once the rust has been collected, all radiators, heating coils and pipe work are power flushed with clean water until water samples tested using special electronic meters show clean and neutral readings.

After this stage a small amount of neutraliser is added to ensure there is no residual phosphoric acid in the system, then a rust inhibitor is added. Finally the power flush system is removed, the heating turned on and all radiators balanced to optimise system efficiency.

  • Reduction in gas bills
(commonly upto 15% less gas consumed)
  • Radiators get hot all round
  • Prolonged heating system life.
  • Restoration of heating efficiency.

LPG Boilers

LPG Gas Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a combination of propane and butane stored under moderate pressure. Because LPG is about 250 times denser as a liquid than a gas, it means you can keep quite a large quantity in a relatively small space.  It is a viable alternative for rural homes, who are off the natural gas ‘grid’.  LPG gas has the lowest carbon emissions of all fossil fuels available to rural homeowners, emitting around 20% less CO2 per kWh than heating oil.  We’re seeing a number of customers move from oil supplied boilers to LPG.

That’s what makes LPG boilers the ideal solution for homes of all sizes. All you need is a storage tank and fuel feed.  LPG tanks usually hold between 1000 to 2000 litres and are refilled by tanker delivery, which can be automated to avoid the need to remember to reorder (a GSM signal is required).  Alternatively they can be fuelled from exchangeable bottles and cylinders. Either way you are free to shop around for the best fuel deal whenever you want to.
LPG boilers are renowned for being better for the environment as they are clean and burn completely.  Theft and leaks are also virtually impossible from the storage tanks used for LPG.

In addition, because the fuel flows under greater pressure than standard mains gas, the boiler jets are smaller so running costs compare favourably with conventional natural gas boilers. All leading boiler manufacturers including Worcester Bosch and Vaillant offer LPG gas boiler models.

We started using John around 18 months ago due to our regular Plumbing and Heating engineer relocating, John was recommended to us to take over. As we are 5 star holiday apartments it’s essential we have an engineer that can offer full flexibility to suit our bookings, reliability and carrying out a high standard of work. John fully meets our requirements and is very competitive with his prices, very polite, friendly and trustworthy and we have no hesitation recommending his services.

Maintenance Manager
Escape2 The Sands Scarborough

We have recently moved house and again John has excelled in the installation of a new bathroom including tiling and a full central heating system.

He also assisted in the planning and installation of a new downstairs cloakroom using a Saniflow system and finished with all the kitchen plumbing.

All of this was done whilst we were at work and he liaised if any problems arose instead of ignoring important issues. We highly recommend John and he will always be our preferred plumber.

Many thanks John
